Laundry! I do not like to do laundry. I know that I am incredibly blessed to have a washer and dryer to do my laundry. But sometimes I wake up Monday mornings a little grumpy. Time to do it all over again. I will wash clothes and "finish" the task only to find there are more clothes that have gotten dirty in the meantime. In these times, I feel that my tasks have been overlooked by everyone.
There are others that were overlooked by everyone else. David the punk little brother was only good for carrying the lunches, but he defeated the giant. Joseph too was the younger brother, hated by his brothers, thrown into a pit and overlooked by them only to save them from starvation later on. Both of these young men were overlooked by everyone else but handpicked by God.
There are times when my tasks never seem to get completed, they go overlooked, but I have to remember that I am in the process of not only discovering my purpose but that of my family too. I don't know about you but that makes me look at my daily tasks, even laundry, in a whole new light. There is character building, attitude adjusting, and heart shaping that must take place in order to be what God has intended. I may be overlooked by everyone else, but I know that I have been handpicked by God.
