If you have never tried a s'more using Peeps, you have never had this great taste of Grandma Bergie's. She buys Peeps after the holiday and they get a little hard, which is just perfect. You roast these like you would a marshmallow, put them on a bar of chocolate between two graham crackers and enjoy.
They are the absolute best. You will never want a s'more with just an ordinary marshmallow again. We have these at the lake around the fire pit on the patio. My kids will always have great memories hearing stories and singing around the fire at the lake.
Execpt for me this summer...:(

I have never liked Peeps. I used to get them in my Easter basket every year and they never got eaten (just sat there and looked cute). However, I think you might have found the true purpose of the peep!... I can't wait to give this a try!

I've lived in France for 10 years! I had no idea that they made anything other than Easter Peeps!!! I am so excited to see that photo!!!

I've heard about using Peeps to make s'mores especially when the Peeps are a little hard. Thank you for confirming it as true! Sounds like fun!

Great idea! This may be the only way I would ever stomach a peep. :)

I just can't do peeps. Ugh. I don't think roasting them will help me. There's something about their texture and ... ugh.
Posted by: Creative Junkie | January 19, 2009 at 08:27 AM
That is soooooo funny. I am one of the few people that are revolted by peeps. My husband however would loooove this.

Posted by: Margaret | January 19, 2009 at 08:43 AM
Hmmm that sounds very good.
I don't like peeps but i think roasting them is the perfect solution with chocolate of course.
Chocolate makes everything all better.
Happy SITS day!

I usually don't like to eat Peeps, but this summer I will give it a try. This Easter I will buy a package of Peeps and hide them from the kids.
Enjoy your SITs Day!
Posted by: Vickie | January 19, 2009 at 09:38 AM
I'll have to try these. I'm not a big fan of peeps on their own, never thought of integrating them in to a s'more.
Posted by: mrsbear | January 19, 2009 at 09:40 AM
Oh my gosh....this is such a great idea.... oh I can't wait until peeps are out in the stores for Easter.....
My kids will love this idea...we love s'mores when we are camping, this will only make it that much better.... thanks for the great idea
Posted by: barb@spotlis | January 19, 2009 at 09:40 AM
What a great idea! Gotta love smores. They're the BEST.
Posted by: Rhea | January 19, 2009 at 10:24 AM
Sounds good! I'd do it with dark chocolate. You know what else is delish? A s'more with a reeses peanut butter cup - not exactly healthy, but what a treat!
Posted by: carina | January 19, 2009 at 10:26 AM
Not a big fan of peeps, myself, but I'm totally craving something sweet now, thanks!! lol :)

Posted by: Heather | January 19, 2009 at 10:36 AM
That sounds yummy! Do the sprinkles on them change color when burned? I might need to try them to see!
Posted by: Janna | January 19, 2009 at 10:42 AM
OMG how genius! S'mores don't have quite enough sugar!lol I bet the melted sugar on the Peeps is perfect.
