Today is the day these five guys Skate the State. (That's my son on the right.) Yes, you heard me right they are going to skate across the entire state of Nebraska. They will travel 430 miles by skate board in five days. This adventure is all about raising money for a nonprofit organization, Bay 198, that provides a positive and safe place for at risk youth. Mike Smith, founder of Bay 198, said, “This whole thing is a big what-if. The potential of what this can mean for The Bay and the kids back home is what this trip is all about. It’s not supposed to be a fun trip, it’s to push yourself to do something to help others.” Follow Skate The State on their blog as well as Facebook and Twitter. You can also support them with a donation here. Although this sounds like a crazy thing to do, it makes my mom heart full to see our son follow a passion and take a bit of a risk doing it.
Making his grandma so proud - will be lifting those brave young men, who are committed to helping others, before the Lord in prayer!!!!! And you gotta know who has a big smile on his face!!!
