Pinterest -- My New Addiction

Over the weekend I joined a new creative social network.  And boy doggies, I am totally addicted.  The website is Pinterest.  You can browse around without joining, but once you join, that's when the fun begins.  All you do is basically bookmark or "pin" things that you see on the internet that you like and then others respond by "like" or "repin" your "pin".  I knew something was up somewhere on the internet as there were several of my older posts like Bed to Front Porch Bench, Pink Christmas Ball Wreath, and Homemade Peppermint Bath Salts that were coming up with a tons of hits.  Now, I know that someone had "pinned" them on Pinterest.  I am just warning you now DO NOT even get started because you will not be able to stop looking at Pinterest.  I just think of it as a little vacation throughout the day. But BEWARE your time will fly away on Pinterest.  Happy pinning :o)

Element 8 is my Hero!

The last week or so I have had some computer technical difficulties.  I hate it when my laptopstops working, it makes me realize just how dependent I have become to this cute little pink box.  I also now know just how much time I spend reading and sending emails, blogging, and just plain waisting time on this piece of technology.  But it is a necessary tool for me, after all, I am running a business here.  A couple of weeks ago I took my computer to Jason at Element 8, my computer was running slow and I knew that there was a virus involved.  A day later he delivered my computer running great.  But then this week my computer kept turning off.  I could not keep it on long enough to check email or do any of my "business".  Because Element 8 did a great job for a reasonable price last time I gave them a call again.  The next day Ed from Element 8 called and said that my laptop was ready for pick up and that they had to do surgery and removed two large dust bunnies from the inside of my laptop.  He then proceeded to tell me that I really should not set my laptop on any fabric.  Really, fabric is my life, that is what Stitches By Sturman is all about.  I have dust bunnies cohabitating in my studio with me all the time.  They multiply like rabbits, ha,ha!   So the fact that they found their way into my laptop is no surprise.  My computer is running great once again!  Thanks Element 8 for rescuing me once again.

BlackBerry, ARRRRGH!

Today was the day the we needed to renew our cell phone contract.  This originally sounded like an exciting thing to start with.  You know, getting new phones, and just feeling a little bit more high tech and having an up to date connection with our world.  I decided to go with a BlackBerry.  Fun, right?  Your phone, and your handheld device all in one little piece of equipment is supposed to be a good thing right?  Well, it would be great if I could get the phone to sync up with my laptop.  This is not happening.  I don't know what I am doing wrong but this is not working.  So I guess, for now I will still carry around both my phone, BlackBerry, mind you, and my handheld PC.  I am so frustrated.  Just when I think I am pretty technologically "with it" a little phone can just put me back in my place.  That little phone will not stop me from going on vacation even if I have to take my handheld along too.

Technical Difficulties

I have been having computer trouble over the last couple of weeks that came to a boiling point over the weekend.  That is the reason why I have not made any posts.  But I know this great computer guy who I dropped my laptop by this afternoon at 5:00 pm and he already has it ready to go.  Back to work tomorrow and updating my blog.  I love it when I know someone who can actually make this technology work.
